    1Motor bikes (boda boda) Investment
    • Investment cost: UGX 5,107,000 per bike.
    • Investor returns: UGX 95,000 weekly giving a return of 34% annually.
    • Duration: 81 weeks.
    • How it works: Investors provide the capital for a motorcycle to secure a weekly income 18 months.
    2Pooled Investment
    • Principal amount: starting from 5,000,000.
    • Investor returns: UGX 83,000 weekly.
    • Duration: 100 weeks.
    3Fixed Deposits
    • Limit: Minimum UGX 500,000 and Maximum UGX 100,000,000.
    • Tenure: 6 months to 1 year.
    • Interest Rate: 2.5% per month for 6 months and 3% per month for 12 months.
    • Payment terms: Interest is credited to the account monthly. The principal is repaid in full at the end of the agreed term.
    4Short term investment-Discount instrument
    • Limit: Minimum investment is UGX 1,000,000 and maximum investment is UGX 50,000,000.
    • Structure: Offered at 90% of the face value.
    • Tenure: 3 months (90 days).
    • Benefit: The full-face value is realized and paid out after the three months’ period.

    Illustration:
    1. An individual who wishes to receive UGX 1,000,000 at the end of 90 days will make an investment of UGX 900,000 today.
    2. If an individual makes an investment of UGX 1,000,000 today, they will receive UGX 1,111,000 at the end of 90 days.
